Is there a demand for new railroad conductors?

Hello, I just was accepted into a railroad academy to recieve my conductor's training. i'm currently in construction but feel like I'd like a change of carreers. i'm just curious if right now is the right time to do it since I do have a steady job, and that will there be a demand in the near future for me to get a job in the railroad industry. I've heard that alot of the current employees are on back log and are waiting to get back to work. thanks for your info!
