My baby sometimes don't inhale in for about 5 to 10 secs....Does anyone elses baby do this sometimes?

I have tooken my baby to the doctor several times for this problem and even seen a specialist for this particular reason. He even has a follow up appt to see the doctor today as well. Ok this is whats been going on..every night when my baby goes to sleep he get congested from some reason I don't know, but then later into the night I wake up to check on him to see hows hes doing if hes not already crying...he wakes up at least 3-4 times a night and im exhausted by morning everyday! at night while hes breathing he just sometimes forget to breath in and I scares me and even thought its just 5 or 10 secs long..I dont even take that long to inhale or exhale...is this normal I believe its not. Ive told the doctor what hes been doing and they sent me to and ENT specialist and they checked out his tonsils and adnoids and of course his tonsils were already swollen when he got there that the one reason when he breathes so loud at night and sometimes snores. His pcp gave him prednisolone for his bronchitis and amoxillin for his swollen tonsils. but the when the ent checked him out hes said all he sees is swollen tonsils and his adnoids are fine and I was told if he really needed surgery then I would of been told he needed one but he said try to make him blow his nose to remove all the mucus. Ok my son will just be 19 mons on the aug 22 and he had no idea how to blow his nose how am I going to get him to do that? I've tried but he just laughed at me and thought I was just make funny noises..I guess the doctor was trying to tell me if he learns to blow his nose then he should be able to breath better at night..but I think deep down in my soul there is something wrong and he's just hasnt be diagnosed with the right diagnosis....help me what should I do and tell the doctor when i go today???
