I need help with this poem for english?

Basically, this is a monologue addressed to a mouse. The narrator feels pity for the mouse whose home is destroyed by Man. The narrator also feels the mouse has an advantage because it only lives in the present, while the narrator looks at both the past and the future with trepidation.
