Is anyone working or have worked as a poker/blackjack dealer?

I'm thinking about going into this career...I'm young, but I love the game and love to deal and be on level with the players but act as lower-level management for the most part, basically what I think the dealer should do. Does anyone have any advice or can share any experiences in this field?
